I took 18 pictures of this beach and at full resolution, RAW, and everything. I'm sticthing them together and the wide resolution is getting bigger and bigger! next thing i know the wide resolution is GIANT!!! (Still not done editing, working progress)
I would like to show you guys what a 19,000 x 2592 image looks like, I compressed it to a jpeg so its only 40 MB.
The orignal PSD of this file is 1.2GB and took about 2-4 minutes to save between time to time!! I uploaded the giant one. and heres a preview as well http://users.noobsgonewild.org/greasybacon/pics/environment/EWR_preview.jpg
[WARNING THIS IMAGE IS VERY LARGE AND WILL TAKE TIME TO LOAD] FULLSIZE: link (http://users.noobsgonewild.org/greasybacon/pics/environment/Extreme_wide_range_b1.jpg )

"Pictures" + "18+" = not what I thought it was going to be
Great shots, they seemed a little over exposed though. How did you stitch these? Manually or did you use the photoshop automation?

I actually beefed up the color, originally it wasn't as bright. and yes I'm using Photoshop to manually stitch them. I've never stitched images together before so its a little noticeable

Try using the automation process, it will do it automatically for you.

some of your seems are actualy really obvious, you should do some warping and color are brightness changing to hide them

I think the obviousness of them make it look really cool and authentic. Instead of making it look like one giant picture.

Wow, If you printed that picture out based on ur 24" (22" or so horizontal) monitor you would get a picture that was about 35 feet wide!

Love panoramic photos, would make one if I had an actual tripod. Bacon's top anything I could have made though.
Also in related news. It reminded me of the 1474 megapixel panoramic of the Obama inauguration. 1474 Megapixel. 1474... Megapixel. 1474.

This is very true. on the fullsize image it is extremely obvious but this is my first wide shot. I think its decent for the amount of experience I've had.

I have no idea what you mean by that. The non-continuity detracts from the beauty of the picture.

I'm confident Bacon knows the seams stick out like the pope at a gang bang.
Stitching images at this resolution is very difficult. He did just as good if not better than all of us, I would still love to see it sewn with the automator however.

I am aware of this. I'm pretty sure i said in the description that i said i'm not done with it. you can also see white parts at the bottom where the camera was at it's top point. and it started to go down.

Is there an automated tool in photoshop for doing stuff like this? if so then maybe i should take a look at it to see what it comes out like, i still got the original pictures.

Alright i tried that a week ago, and it took about a good 40 - 50 minutes, then photoshop crashed. I tried again and did the same thing. yaa. I thought it was funny though, haha

Wow - Bacon, that's really amazing! I hope you'll post updated pics if you plan to do more work on it. I can't figure out Photoshop for the life of me. That must have taken a lot of time to get it to this point.
